Paul SORMANI (1817-c.1877): EXCEPTIONAL COMMODITY with a strongly curved shape, in rosewood veneer, amaranth and satin with inlaid decoration of large bouquets of tulips and naturalistic flowers. Rich ornamentation of finely chiselled and gilded bronzes. It rests on four scrolled legs underlined with acanthus leaves, corolla scraps and crossed ribbon nets. The tops of the uprights are decorated with busts of women with egrets in knotted bodices, with ovum falls in waves and foliage. Opened by two drawers with bronze gripping handles decorated with an important moulding of bird penne leaves, chicory leaves, shells, wave motifs and acanthus leaves. The marble is of the brocatelle type from the Languedoc region of France, yellow, pink, red and brown in colour (very fine condition, the highly expressive female heads with elaborate hairstyles). Signed on the lock " P. SORMANI - PARIS 10 rue Charlot". Louis XV style, late 19th century. Height. 98 cm. Length. 190 cm. Depth 69 cm.
