Gao, a whole village frightened by the fall of this meteorite. Meteorite of type chondrite H5 named GAO, fallen in March 1960 in Burkina Faso. One of the most prized meteorite falls, it is difficult to imagine a meteorite collection without a Gao meteorite. It is a real meteorite shower that fell near the villages of Gao and Guenie in March 1960. Gao meteorites weighing more than 100 g have become rare. This specimen has a beautiful black fusion crust with a brown patina typical of its stay of several decades on Earth.
The meteorite measures 55 x 50 x 45 mm for 253 g.
