The image is very well preserved. John Moffat (1819-1894) was a Scottish photographer. In 1853, he opened his photographic studio in Princes Street, Edinburgh, which remained the address of the shop for more than one hundred years. Moffat is mostly known for his portraits and cartes de visite, however he also produced stereoscopic photographs.
