RAYMOND SUBES (1893-1970) Middle table with a rectangular alabaster top made up of fourteen slabs framing a central decoration sculpted in bas-relief after Alfred Janniot's "Annam" sculpture for the main façade at the south-east corner of the Musée des Colonies in Paris and set in a wide bevelled and moulded belt in hammered wrought iron. Double lateral wrought iron base with scrolls at the top and finely chiseled central decoration of a stylized bouquet, resting on two rectangular black marble bases. 161cm x 121cm and height 82cm. Probably a unique piece on order whose base is similar to a rectangular table presented at the Salon d'Automne in 1924 and part of the personal collection of Raymond Subes kept in his castle of Larnagol.
