This painting was exhibited in 1983 in Monaco as part of a group of paintings by the artist, taking up works by Velasquez, at the invitation of Prince Rainier III to celebrate the artist's 80th birthday. We thank the artist's daughter, manager of the Musée-chapelle dedicated to his work in Cannes, for these details.
