Islamic mortar
Cast bronze with engraving, remnants of a red coloured finish. Cylindrical, consol-like upper rim. Two rows of seven drops or tears in relief around the rim. The engravings (lotus blossoms?) heavily rubbed, as well as the calligraphic band around the upper rim. Some notches, the bottom somewhat concave hewn. H 15,3, D 15,4 cm, weight approx. 6,4 kg.
Khorasan/Iran, attributed, 13th century.
