Islamic mortar Cast bronze with engraving, remnants of a red paint finish, verdigris due to corrosion, especially on the inside and somewhat in the recesses. Cylindrical, plate-like protruding upper and lower rim. Two circumferential double profile rings between calligraphy bands, round and drop-shaped medallions with depictions of birds. The bottom concavely carved, with cracks. H 14,6, D 18 cm, weight ca. 4,6 kg. Khorasan, Afghanistan/ Iran, attributed, 12th - 14th century.
