Islamic mortar Cast bronze with engraving, brown-black patina and only scattered red and green spots. Cylindrical, with a console-like upper and lower rim. Circumferentially two rows of six drops or tears in relief, interspersed with raised circular medallions with engraved depictions of birds. Around the lower rim a running dog, around the upper one a calligraphy band. Bottom concave hewn, with cracks. H 13,7, D 13,7 cm, weight ca. 3,8 kg. Khorasan/Iran, attributed, 13th century.
