Islamic mortar
Bronze casting with engraving, slightly spotty golden brown patina. Cylindrical, on a slightly projecting base plate, the upper rim flared accordingly. Three calligraphy bands around, a fourth on top of the rim. H 15,7, D 17,7 cm, weight approx. 6,2 kg. Matching conical pestle with engraved profile grooves and two profile rings, flat ball handle, l 26.5 cm.
Khorasan / Afghanistan, attributed, 13th - 14th century.
