Islamic mortar
Cast bronze with engraving, golden-brown patina and remnants of a red paint. Hexagonal, with plate-like protruding upper and lower rim. The edges martellated, on top of the rims heavily rubbed calligraphy (?). The bottom concavely carved. H 14, D 20 cm, weight ca. 7,3 kg.
Khorasan/ Southern Afghanistan, 15th/16th century.
