Rare mortar with flame motif Golden brown bronze casting with a shimmering silvery-gold patina. Conical, on a strong, stepped fluted base, the flaring rim fourfold fluted. Above the base and below the rim large acanthus leaves and lambent flames. Two dolphin handles. Little lime and rust deposits on the inside, the bottom with a fine crack in the middle. H 17,7, D 18,7 cm, weight approx. 8,3 kg. Lower Rhine, 16th century.
