Beautiful Regency period buckle knocker.
The buckle figures two facing Cs whose lower parts, enlarged into a drop, enclose a flattened sphere and the upper parts, thinner, are carved with foliage. The latter are surmounted by two arched arms, chiselled with small fleurons in very slight relief, supporting the axis and the lace.
The lace has a semi-circular crown carved with foliage and is extended at the bottom by a pretty fleuron chiselled with foliage and a small baluster. On the obverse side there is a small locking system for the leaf.
No plate, repair, rework.
