Set including: - A door lock and its strike in the Louis XVI style. The equal palasters, ending in gendarme caps, are framed by a projecting moulding enhanced by a frieze of rais-de-coeur. In the center of the palasters, a winged sphinx, the body ending in a garland of acanthus leaves, is framed by two leafy scrolls centered on rosettes. Copy of the model created by FORESTIER for the apartments of Marie- Antoinette in Versailles. - Model of a lock strike in chased and gilded bronze in the Empire style. The palm tree is in a frame of rais-de-coeur, the eagle with spread wings of the Empire, placed on two long leafy branches of laurels and palms, tied by a spread ribbon. The palate is extended by a circular case chiselled with a large palmette and resting on two leafy consoles. It is a reproduction of the numerous models of locks that were created at the time for the ornamentation of the Imperial Palaces and of which many variants are known. France. 19th century. - Door lock strike and its handle in gilt bronze, with the figure of the Emperor Napoleon 1st. The rectangular case is extended by a circular case housing the handle. The decoration shows, in a frame of moulding and heart-shaped raisins, the imperial eagle standing on two large leafy branches surmounting a volute base on an amatized background. The handle, in elongated hexagon, is chiselled with an N inscribed in a circle and flanked by two palmettes. It is in fact a lock whose mechanism has been removed in order to use it as a strike. Chased bronze on an amatized and gilded background. France, early 19th century. Cf. Salon des Maréchaux at the Palais des Tuileries.
