"after Cornelis Pronk. Chinese characters around an arbour in a garden framed on the wing, butterflies and insects alternated with flowers in cartouches.
The Dutch Company of the Indies (V.O.C.) ordered to the Dutch painter and draughtsman Cornelis Pronk, several models and drawings "chinoisants" which were then carried out in China for the Western market.
18th century, circa 1738-1740.
