"Armando the mermaid-man of Calabrian origin is the patron saint of fish in the South of France. He has seen a lot, he lost an eye in a fight with a swordfish a few centuries ago. He's a bit worn out, but he's still there to rule over the gilled people. He's the one who grants fishermen the right to fish, he's the one who makes anchovy pizza, he's the one who makes bouillabaisse, he's the one who makes sardines grilled in the backyard. That had to be known."
