Porcelain, marked on the bottom with underglaze blue sword mark, model numbers "60002" to "60021", and decoration numbers. The monkey band, designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler, shows a whimsical orchestra: monkeys dressed as humans, through which Kaendler ironically but humorously holds up a mirror to courtly society. The 12-piece set includes the bandmaster with music stand, drummer, bass violinist, violinist, guitarist, singer, harpist, timpanist, timpanist, hurdy-gurdy player, and bagpiper. Good condition.
