L.S. dictated to Méneval and addressed to the prince of Neuchatel. Saint-Cloud, 24 March 1808. 1 p. in-4. Gilt edge.
In this long letter he announces a reward for "() the under officers and soldiers of my Guard eight hundred thousand francs of gratification to the infantry, the cavalry and the artillery () ". Marshal Berthier will thus have to make warn the general commanding the Guard in order to be presented to him a state: " () those which were found with three of the five battles, will receive three days of gratification, those which were found only with one or two, will receive two days. I do not understand as present at a battle those who were twenty places behind, but those who were actually there ()"
