PERSIAN KHATAM KARI BOX. Decorated with khatam kari, wood, brass, ivory and stained ivory, bone.

Persian box inlaid with micro-mosaic known as khatam kari, a traditional technique of very fine geometric marquetry using a system of beams. These are cut and glued before being applied to the decorated objects (small old restorations in painted plaster, small lifting)
