JOHNSON WALTER: (1887-1946) American baseball Player and Manager. Nicknamed ''Barney'' and ''The Big Train''. Johnson played as pitcher for the Washington Senators during his 21 years of baseball career in the Major League. Widely regarded as one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history. Johnson established several pitching records, some of which remain unbroken nine decades after. Very rare signed postcard photograph `Walter Johnson', the image showing Johnson in a full length pose, playing for the Washington Senators. Also dated 1916 in Johnson's hand beneath his signature. To the verso, the postcard bears a postmark, Washington, 6th September 1916, also bearing a small newspaper article affixed, dated 1916, and entitled ''Walter Johnson really himself against Yanks''.
