Salvador DALI (1904-1989) Death mask of Napoleon. Original proof in bronze with brown patina signed and numbered 8/8. H : 23 cm. Preserved in a frame lined with green alcantara A copy of this mask was offered to the President of the Republic Georges Pompidou (1911-1974), The death mask was made by Doctor Antommarchi (Corsica, 1780-Cuba, 1838), sent to Saint Helena by Cardinal Fesch to replace the British O'Meara and arrived on the island one day after the death of the great man on May 5, 1821.
