Original proof in bronze with brown patina signed and numbered 8/8.
H : 23 cm.
Preserved in a frame lined with green alcantara
A copy of this mask was offered to the President of the Republic Georges Pompidou (1911-1974),
The death mask was made by Doctor Antommarchi (Corsica, 1780-Cuba, 1838), sent to Saint Helena by Cardinal Fesch to replace the British O'Meara and arrived on the island one day after the death of the great man on May 5, 1821. The mask was made two days later, on May 7, 1821.
Prestigious provenance: heritage private secretary of Salvador Dali, (auction sale Artcurial).
