Salvador DALI (1904-1989) The dragon-swan-elephant, circa 1969 Bronze proof with brown patina signed and numbered 4/4, publisher's stamp DIEJASA. H: 12,5 cm This is a very rare piece by the master in its original format, made by the artist himself. The Clot collection is also the perfect fusion between abstract mythology and surrealism. The double images sometimes multiple as this one are the testimony of the genius of Dali and contributed to its celebrity in its period "critical paranoid" on which André Breton wrote much. This theme can be found in the 1937 oil painting entitled "Swans reflected in elephants". This sculpture is the only one in the collection that, when turned around, changes its subject like the photos. Bibliography: Robert & Nicolas DESCHARNES. The hard and the soft. reproduced on page 171 under references 429, 430 and 431 A certificate from Nicolas and Olivier DESCHARNES will be given to the buyer. The prestigious Clot Collection It is a suite realized by Dali for his friend Isidro Clot. These pieces are very rare, realized by his hand. Every day in the afternoon, he left the studio to go swimming in the pool. A new and very exclusive art of creation initiated by the master, the art of folding or Dalinian origami, a first contract was signed in 1973, followed by others. A copy of the suite was donated to the Saint Petersburg Museum (Florida, USA). Some pieces of this suite were offered by the Spanish royal family as the coat of arms of Marbella, the Spanish Saint-Tropez.
