KARABAGH/ARTSAKH carpet (Caucasus, Armenia), 3rd third of the 19th century
Dimensions : 465 x 205cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on wool foundation.
A long anthracite field hosts a vegetal tangle, chestnut and ivory, forming cruciform compositions with leafy volutes. The main chestnut border, with a series of flowering corollas, is flanked by two ivory counter-borders, with garlands of stylized flowers. Beautiful pastel set. (Wear and restorations)
