ISPAHAN carpet (Persia), Shah's era, mid 20th century
Dimensions : 342 x 204cm.
Technical characteristics : Wool velvet on a cotton foundation.
Four turquoise spandrels with arabesques and multicoloured floral compositions enclose a marine field with rich floral scrolls, which supports in its centre a poly-lobed floral medallion, starry, turquoise, ivory and brick. Three pastel counter borders frame the main brick border, all four with polychrome flower garlands. Navy braid.
