Silk SINKIANG carpet (East Turkestan), late 19th century
Dimensions : 280 x 215cm.
Technical characteristics : Silk velvet on silk foundation.
A bluish field decorated with flowers, hosts a sowing of paving in the antique style, formed by cartouches and polychrome floral medallions. A chestnut counter border, with small cruciform flowers and small lozenges, flanks the main ivory border with sky blue and pink Moorish crenellations, decorated with multicolored flowering stems. Great poetry. (Wear)
