Theseus' a Minton Parian Ware figure probably modelled by A Carrier-Belleuse, modelled riding a rearing horse, incised Ermine mark, stress hairlines to base, 41.5cm. high Provenance Peter Myers & David Coachworth Collection. Catalogue notes This figure is the companion to the Amazon figure and was shown at the Great Exhibition of 1851. It was probably modelled by Carrier-Belleuse after an alabaster by Benjamin Cheverton copied from the Elgin collection in the British Museum.
