Allegory of Poetry. 18th c Drawing, black chalk, 23 x 18 cm, laid paper with watermark, unsigned (brown stain at upper right corner). Under passe-partout. Apollo visiting a writer (possibly Ovid) who is also inspired by divine wine at a herm of Bacchus. At the left foreground we see Leda and the Swan, a scene from the Metamorphoses.
