TROZZELLA
DATE: end of V century B.C. C.
MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish clay, chamois mottling, brown and brownish varnish, modelled on a quick lathe.
Everted brim, with rounded lip, cylindrical neck with fluid connection to the globular body elongated downwards, disc foot; high ribbon handles, surmounted, characterized by circular wheel decorations, set on the lip and shoulder.
DECORATION: lip painted in reddish brown, as well as the foot and the profiles of the handles and wheels, on the neck and shoulder with phytomorphic and geometric motifs, lower part of the body decorated with alternating fillets in brown and reddish brown that are repeated on the foot.
PRODUCTION: Messapian ceramics
STATE OF CONSERVATION: without an encrusted handle, slight chipping.
