Upset by the fire at Notre-Dame de Paris in 2019, Georges Saulterre and Jean-Gabriel Tordjman have designed a show to pay tribute to the monument by bringing it back to life in the form of a "mapping" projection (or "light fresco"). The video presents this creation, which is to envelop a model of the cathedral (reduced to ¼ and transportable). The figures of Esmeralda and Quasimodo drawn by Saulterre are mixed with images of the building in flames, its choir invaded by rubble or even its rose window, in a grandiose presentation that places it in its historical depth. Through this colourful, dreamlike and spiritual fresco, the viewer is also invited to relive the great history of Paris and its people.
