ESCUELA FLAMENCA, S. XVII The Idolatry of Solomon Oil on canvas 115 x 168 cm The painting we present here can be related compositionally to Francken's work (148 x 227 cm) of "The Supper of King Balthasar" in the Cathedral of Seville. In turn, there is a smaller version with the same subject matter in Paris catalogued as a workshop of Frans Francken II (Antwerp, 1581-1642). However, its author must have been a painter of Francken's time but stylistically different who has yet to be identified.
