PORCELAIN TRAY, SHOWER, GINORI MANIFACY, 1750 CIRCA
Porcelain tray, shaped, with ribbed mixtilinear rim, decorated in relief with thin ashlar patterns and a slightly raised brim, painted in polychrome in shades of red and blue with gold highlights in imitation of the Arita palette. The ornamentation reflects an oriental inspiration with a small flowering tree with peonies and lotus flowers in the centre of the composition, a motif that, gathered in elongated bunches, is repeated symmetrically on the brim. Together with the exemplar that follows, the work is an illuminating example of the production of the Tuscan manufactory. The most pertinent comparison comes from the important signed tray, published by Morazzoni, datable to around the middle of the century, with which it shares the high quality of execution; 23.9x29 cm, h. 4 cm
