Hurdy-gurdy by Pierre Louvet in Paris. (1709-1784) Probably one of the most important hurdy-gurdy makers of his time. Iron mark on the back of the keyboard and handwritten label inside the instrument : " Pierre Louvet, " à la Vielle Royale " rue Montmartre à Paris, 1740 (?) ". (number 4 difficult to read). Female head carved on top of the pegbox.
Some accidents and missing parts (including the tailpiece and the windchest of the sympathetic strings), but quite good condition
