JARRY (Alfred). Ubu Roi. Drama in five acts in prose. Restored in its integrity as it was represented by the puppets of the Théâtre des Phynances in 1888 . - In-16, paperback. First edition illustrated with 2 portraits of Father Ubu drawn by the author. Copy of the current edition, including on the title the fictitious mention of "Third edition". It is complete with the catalogue at the end. PRECIOUS EXAMPLE BY THADÉE NATANSON (1868-1951), enriched with this letter from the author: "Copy destined to fortify // Mr. Thadée Natanson // For Mr. Ubu // Alfred Jarry " Natanson was a journalist, collector and art critic . He was one of the founders of the famous "Revue blanche". Jarry, whom Natanson supported materially, dedicated one of the chapters of "Faustroll" to him. A dilapidated copy, uncrumpled. The first cover and a large part of the spine are missing. The first two leaves are defaced, tears on the edges of several leaves.
