Paintings, "Small village",Max Alioth, who resided in the Engadine, developed his construction activities in St. Moritz at the beginning of the 20th century. His work focused on the construction of chalets and country houses, all of which are found mainly in the Engadine but also in the other cantons of Switzerland. The renovation of historic buildings was also part of his work. Characterized by the traditional "Bündner architectural style", the architect developed an independent signature in the design of the exterior and interior construction. The publication also shows unpublished plans for the monumental construction of a cathedral in Candelaria in Tenerife, which, however, could never be completed. This monograph aims to provide an overview of Alioth's architectural and artistic work, which is supported by numerous sketches. Construction plans, watercolors and photos are documented. It was commissioned by the Samedan Cultural Archives of the Upper Engadine and the Association for Cultural Research of Graubünden.
