Paintings, "Farmer in the field",Born in Belgium in 1887. Appia studied art in Berne, Brussels, Petrograd, and Dresden. He emigrated from his home in Geneva, Switzerland to San Francisco in 1921. After settling into a studio-home across the bay in Berkeley, he was active locally for several years. By 1930 he was teaching music in NYC.
