Paintings, "Sea side",Fritz Boegli was born in Delémont in 1912 and died in Moutier in 2000. Fritz Boegli was the 9th in a family of 11 children. Arthur Boegli, his father, had a plaster-painting business in which the young Fritz apprenticed. In 1928, one of Fritz"™s older brothers, the second child in the family, a student at the Buxtehude School of Fine Arts, near Hamburg, Germany, tragically died in a traffic accident. This brother's name was Walter, and he was planning a career as an artist. He already showed a magnificent talent: the few works that have remained from him bear witness to this. The death of Walter, the much admired older brother, was a great grief for Fritz the apprentice and also a wake-up call. To honor the memory of the deceased, he also decided to become an artist-painter, not by following a fine arts school, but by working on artistic painting in addition to his profession as a house painter. Fritz was as gifted as his deceased brother, but deprived of an academic training, he trained "on the job", through his profession as a painter, letter painter, associating with other artists, in particular Armand Schwarz, but above all by working with paintings, in oils or watercolors. Following the fashion of his early years, his painting was oriented towards landscapes, which he painted from nature, but also towards still lifes and portraits: those of his mother, his wife, his children, people. of his entourage. In 1939 Fritz Boegli married Suzanne Vorpe de Moutier and it was in Moutier that he settled with his family and developed a general company in painting, plasterwork, masonry, but also in the construction of chimneys. He associated three of his sons with the business until the 1990s, when they took up the torch in various capacities. Throughout these years Fritz Boegli found the time and energy to develop his activities as a painter. He set up his workshop on his property in the Montagne de Moutier. As early as 1973, it was in his studio in the Montagne de Moutier that he produced many of his paintings (floral compositions, life scenes, portraits).
