The landscapes of Schleswig-Holstein, especially those of the west coast, were Paulsen's preferred motif. Mostly he worked with the medium of etching. From the mid-1920s, however, he also experimented with painting.- Wide North Frisian landscape depicted in fresh colours, in the midst of which stands a red clinker brick barn surrounded by tall trees. Above it the high blue sky.- According to the previous owner, the picture was acquired in the 1920s directly from the (friendly) artist.- Canvas on the right outer edge doubliert.-.
