Henryk Kossowski was initially a student of his father, Henryk I Kossowski (1815-1878) and Marceli Guyski (1830-1893). After graduating from the School of Fine Arts in Krakow, he studied in Paris (among others with Mathurin Moreau). He exhibited in Paris and Vienna, as well as in Warsaw, Lviv and Krakow. He was famous for motifs of popular sculptural genre and portraits made in bronze, terracotta and patinated plaster.
