Our lamp reflects well the taste for exoticism present in France since the orangeries of the XVIIIth century which embellished the outbuildings of the Versailles castle.
Known until now to a few rare specimens, it appears in the frontispiece of the Art Nouveau collections of the Nitori Museum of Art in Hokkaido, Japan. It is considered to be one of the major creations exhibited.
With the "Glycines" lamp in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris or the "Cascade" lamp in the Kitazawa museum in Suwa, it rivals the spectacular and extraordinarily decorative.
