"When in 1705 the city was besieged and bombarded by the French, C. earned much merit for his fellow citizens by his courageous devotion and laborious securing of the valuable library, to his hand one owes a detailed description of the hard fates of the city" (ADB). 3 of the engravings show 8 small views of parts and buildings of Augsburg each, the 4th some medals. - Water-margined.
