Monumentaler Historismus-Deckelpokal Silver, fully gilded. A profiled raised stand above four mascarons with wings and torn open mouths. The shaft profiled by several nodi and beads. In the centre a nodus with a fully sculpted medieval depiction of a tavern with people playing music, dancing and drinking. Above it conically widening cupola with funnel-shaped widened rim, divided by two wide bulges with chased blossoms and rocailles, as well as four bust portraits of stately dressed men depicted in cartouches. The stand, rim, and domed lid framed by ribbonwork with high relief sculptural rocailles, mascarons, and putti playing musical instruments, respectively. The dome is surrounded by a frieze with chiselled details of a medieval procession of princes framed by volutes. On the lid four scenes in relief depicting meetings between kings, bishops, knights and the pope. The knob is a full-sculptured flag bearer with feathered hat standing on a pedestal. Gilt interior. Marked by pseudo-marks. Weight approx. 3,240 g. H. 80 cm. A German Historicism gilt silver goblet with the scene of a princely procession and with medieval scenes of people dancing and making music.
