Right leaf of a diptych in carved ivory with polychrome highlights in green and red representing in two registers the Crucifixion with the Virgin and St. John in the upper part and the Glorious Virgin in the lower part; two-sided back. A frieze of rosettes separates the two scenes.
Meuse or Rhineland, end of the 13th century
Height: 13.3 cm - Width: 5.7 cm - Thickness: 0.9 cm in the center - Weight: 64 g
The somewhat rough workmanship and the style of the head of Christ make us think of a realization far away from the Parisian workshops, perhaps in Meuse or Rhineland.
