A very fine blue and white lotus bowl, Kangxi period, ca. 1700, China, The bowl with molded lotus petal panels in slight relief, decorated with scenes of playing boys and Long Eliza figures, over a row of aster flowers. The inside with a single seated Long Eliza figure. Marked with a six character 'Qi Yu bao ding zhi zhen' (Precious object of rare jade among treasured vessels). D 21 cm, H 10 cm, Some chipping to the inside standing rim and a small firing crack also on the standing rim (see close-up photos). Rim fritting and light chips but no hairlines and no restoration. A few kiln dust specks (brown spots) in the glaze on the inside (manufacturing flaws).
