Negentiende eeuwse zgn "composite" tekening in inkt van een Moghul nobele te paard - 16 x 19 'Composite' voorstellingen (narikunjara) zijn Perzisch van afkomst, echter is de betekenis erachter niet volledig duidelijk. Dit soort voorstellingen zijn populair geworden in Indië in de achttiende eeuw en vanaf de negentiende eeuw waren deze ook gegeerd in Europa.||19th Cent. "Composite" ink and opaque drawing heightened with gold depicting a Mughal noble riding on horse Composite subjects (narikunjara) were Persian in origin, though the exact meaning of the genre is obscure. It became more popular in Mughal India in the 18th Century, and by the 19th Century Europeans were eager patrons of artists working on such subjects, doubtless drawn by their strangeness.
