Carved ivory carving depicting St. Joseph and Child - probably Germany, last quarter 19th Century carved elephant ivory (Elephas maximus Linnaeus, 1758 or Loxodonta africana Blumenbach, 1797) resting on a partiallyebonized ivory base with four "bun" feet. Height with base 38 cm, base 11.7 x 8.6 cm. Weight 1284 gr. Item condition grading: **** good. Accompanied by Ce.S.Ar. Centro Studi Archeometrici certificate of authenticity (pre-1947).
