LUIGI NICOTAMICOLA (Mottola, Apulia, 1981) "Middle 01", 2019. Digital art. Fine art print, edition 4/10. Canson paper. Measurements: 70 x 50 cm; 72 x 52 cm (frame). Luigi Notarnicola is a painter and draftsman trained at the Academy of Arts and New Technologies in Rome. He currently works as a visual communication designer, creating artistic prints in which he alternates digital art and painting, mouse and brush. Notarnicola characterizes his art by being persuaded by iconic symbols, irony and bright colors. Each of his subjects tells a story through emotions and metaphors inspired by both lived and imagined reality: stories, readings and lore are always real in his productions. Thus, the images represented are realized in the mind as iconic signs, without nuances, details or artifice. In this case "Middle" represents the longing for the intimate experience of an act of pure pleasure. Each will give a different meaning. Each will be involved with contempt or approval. Some will stop in the middle, will experience both sensations and, in this middle, will break the middle ground. Everyone will engage with either contempt or approval. Someone will stop in the middle, will feel both sensations and, in this center, will break the half-measures. His works have appeared in publications such as Artribune, Quotidiano di Puglia, Itinerarinell'arte, among others.
