Pastel on paper, oval in shape, preserved in its original oval giltwood frame (cracks in wood), with cartouche with the name of Rosalba Carriera.

History
The King is represented in bust form after the portrait painted by Van Loo in 1769, kept at the Château de Versailles (inv. MV 3889), when he was still Duke of Berry, aged fifteen, with a variation in his attire (the blue cordon of the Order of the Holy Spirit can still be seen).
