Rare boite ronde
in ivory inlaid on the lid with an oval medallion circled in gold with the equestrian portrait of the Count of Artois (1757-1836), in the uniform of colonel general of the Swiss and Grisons, painted on mother-of-pearl and with marcasite highlights, gilded metal sticks and gilded lozenges, made after the print of Robin de Montigny (see below). Inside lined with tortoiseshell. Slight wear and tear, a crack in the ivory, missing its protective glass.
