A carved and engraved ebony, blackened wood, ebony, rosewood, mahogany and ivory veneer, poplar and fir wood frame cabinet. It opens with two leaves on numerous drawers and two small doors revealing a theatre , leaves with octagonal panels representing the Hunting of the boar of Calydon inspired by the story of Ovid (The Metamorphoses, VIII, 270-547), on the left, Meleager offering his head to Atalanta, on the right, The Hunting of Meleager, whose compositions are drawn from engravings of Pierre Jode after Antonio Tempesta dating from 1606 (fig.a and b) , busts surrounded by garlands and flowery and leafy branches in the spandrels, frieze sculpted in low relief of river and sea divinities. Side panels, backs of leaves and drawer fronts with engraved decoration of flowers (carnations, peonies, tulips, anemones, narcissus), birds, cups and vases, trembled and guilloche mouldings, perspective theatre in checkerboard, stars, geometrical decoration, mirrors and small secret drawers. Legs with eight ringed columns, false drawers in the waist and a top with a recessed projection.
