Pair of edjo re akare female-male statues in wood and pigments, presenting characters seated in a hieratic posture. Under high headdresses, the foreheads are marked with black scarifications of foliated form. The stretched faces are prolonged by prognathic mouths open on filed teeth. The arms are bent at right angles, framing the abdomen with its protruding navel in the male subject, and holding a child in the female subject. Both figures wear wrist bracelets and anklets. These statues embody forest spirits represented in the form of mythical warriors.
