SALINS 1781 - 1782
A silver oil and vinegar cruet and two later carafes. It rests on four feet with scrolls and large acanthus leaf attachments. The circumference is molded with nets ending in scrolls. The oil and vinegar holders, in a very uncommon way, appear in chiseled fade of olive branches for the oil, and vine branches for the vinegar in recall on the stoppers. Engraved with the alliance arms of Jean Marie de Laurencin Beaufort and Hélène Antide Gasparine de Champagne surmounted by a ducal crown (unjustified).
